Rick Hearst Bio

Rick Hearst portrays “Whipple Jones” on The Bold and the Beautiful. Hearst originated the character, often referred to as “Whip”, a devious company publicist who manipulated Brooke Logan (played by Katherine Kelly Lang) into marrying him in exchange for guarding the secret that she was pregnant with her son-in-law’s child, in 2002. In the summer of 2009, Jones returns to Los Angeles to work for Jackie M. at the request of the meddling Stephanie Forrester (played by Susan Flannery).
Hearst has a long and esteemed career in daytime. In addition to his previous stint on The Bold and the Beautiful, he portrayed “Ric Lansing” for six years on General Hospital, for which he received three Daytime Emmy nominations and two Emmy Awards, and he portrayed “Alan-Michael Spaulding” for six years on Guiding Light, for which he garnered four Daytime Emmy nominations and one Emmy Award. Hearst has also portrayed “Matt Clark” on The Young and the Restless and “Scotty Banning” on Days of Our Lives. His other credits include a lead the feature film Carpool Guy and guest-starring roles on the primetime television series Charmed, Beverly Hills 90210 and Pacific Blue, to name a few.
Hearst grew up in New York in a tight-knit Italian family. His mother is originally from Italy, making Rick a first generation American. He attended The University of Texas at Austin on an acting scholarship and starred in several theatrical productions while at UT in Summer Stock. Hearst and his wife Donna live in the Los Angeles area with their two sons, Nicholas and Cameron. Hearst is a first degree black belt. He celebrates his birthday on January 4.
