Mario Lopez Bio

Mario Lopez joins the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful portraying Dr. Christian Ramirez, brother of the Los Angeles firefighter Hector Ramirez, played by Lorenzo Lamas.
As a child, Lopez was discovered by a commercial agent while performing at a dance competition in San Diego, California. At the age of 11, he was cast as the younger brother, Tomás, on the hit show AKA Pablo, sharing the spotlight with fellow Latino actors Paul Rodriguez and Hector Elizondo. This experience led Lopez to many memorable television roles such as A.C. Slater on the internationally renowned sitcom Saved By the Bell and as Officer Bobby Cruz on the syndicated drama Pacific Blue.
Lopez gained a whole new respect in his career when he portrayed Olympic Gold Medalist, Greg Louganis, in the made-for-television movie, Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story. The movie received critical acclaim, propelling Lopez towards numerous other projects.
Some of Lopez’s film credits include The Courier, Colors, Depraved, and the lead role as criminal-turned-hero, Antonio, in the independent film, Eastside.
The year of 2003 opened a whole new door for Lopez as he co-hosted the daytime talk show, The Other Half with Dick Clark and Danny Bonaduce. What made this show stand out from other shows if this genre was that it was geared towards women, but with all male hosts. Lopez’s part represented the single males’ perspective. He then went onto host other television shows such as America’s Most Talented Kid, Real People and Animal Planet’s, Pet Star. He most recently co-hosted the ESPN variety show ESPN Hollywood.
Lopez was born and raised in San Diego and now resides in Los Angeles, California. He celebrates his birthday on October 10th.
