Bridget finally opens up to Eric about her new job at Jackie M and doesn't get the reaction she thought she would. Jackie calls Owen back for another interview and offers him a job based on the "assets" he possesses. Owen then celebrates by sharing a glass of champagne with Jackie and a kiss with Bridget. Ridge informs Brooke about Rick's stipulations about not turning Thomas into the police. Steffy has an awkward moment when Marcus mistakenly learns that Steffy and Rick are getting married. Rick and Steffy share an afternoon of sun, fun and romance at Santa Monica Pier.

Because of Donna's fear that Pam has been released from jail, Eric hires a bodyguard for his family. Ridge and Taylor worry what Rick is going to announce at the family meeting that he called. Rick announces that he is no longer in danger but will not divulge why. After the announcement, Rick receives an insincere apology from Thomas. Ridge's attitude appears to have changed when he surprises Steffy (and everyone else) with a present.

Owen and Jackie become better acquainted over lunch at Il Giardino. When Ridge learns that Thomas' secret is out, he makes a desperate appeal to Rick to not go to the police. Taylor tries to convince Steffy to stay away from Rick so that she doesn't let it slip about Thomas. She later becomes horrified when she learns that Rick now knows the truth. Thomas begins to freak-out at the thought of going to jail.

Owen makes an unannounced visit to Jackie M and gets to know "Madame X" a little better. Jackie sees what Owen has to offer as she interviews him for a job. Harsh words are spoken as Ridge and Brooke argue over the fates of their sons until he makes a plea that she can't refuse. During a heated confrontation, Rick realizes that Thomas is his assailant, and why he committed the dastardly acts against him.

Ridge and Stephanie contemplate a solution to protect Thomas while attempting to free Pam. Taylor gets a startling realization of the extent of just how troubled Thomas truly is. Steffy finds a clever way to deflect Rick's questions and avoid the topic of Thomas. Brooke is taken aback when Ridge explains the reason behind his declaration that Rick is no longer in danger.

Taylor is euphoric about the evening that she shared with Ridge. Knowing that Ridge and Taylor spent the night together, Stephanie seizes the opportunity to rub it in Brooke's face. Stephanie then makes an accusation that Donna and Marcus are to blame for Pam's incarceration. After much persuasion by her family, Steffy makes a decision about telling Rick of Thomas' involvement. Despite trying to make peace with her future mother-in-law, Katie refuses to keep quiet when Jackie berates her once again. Ridge makes an outrageous proposition to Stephanie.

Jackie and Nick share feelings about each other's lives that neither is happy to hear. After a visit with Pam, Brooke begins to believe Stephanie about her sister's innocence. Ridge and Taylor try to persuade Steffy to not tell Rick about Thomas being the one behind the attacks. Ridge and Taylor fear what will happen to Thomas once word gets out and vow to do whatever it takes to protect their son.

Taylor apologizes to Steffy for whisking her away against her will and tries to get her to understand the reasons why. Stephanie continues her warnings to Brooke and refuses to leave until she is assured that Hope and RJ are safe. She then makes a verbal jab at Brooke by noting how Ridge will always turn to Taylor during troubled times and how these current troubled times are attributed to Rick. After delivering her warnings to Brooke, Stephanie issues another daunting one to Rick.

Rick tries to plants seeds of doubt in Brooke's mind about Ridge's devotion to her by referencing the amount of time he has been spending with Taylor. Stephanie arrives to bring Brooke words of warning about her family's safety while adding to Rick's previous comments regarding Ridge's association with Taylor. Steffy understands as Ridge explains to her how his protectiveness of her is due to Phoebe's recent death; he doesn't want to lose another child. Ridge and Taylor share a tender moment as they reminisce about the past.

Having been kidnapped by her parents, Steffy makes a call to Rick to inform him that she is fine and to promise that her family will not change her mind about him. Ridge calls Brooke to notify her that he arranged for her to have police protection, but he refuses to give her his whereabouts. Marcus stands firm when Stephanie accuses him and Donna of framing Pam for the attacks on Rick. Donna visits a distraught Pam in jail and presents her with gifts as tokens of her affection, or lack thereof. Stephanie arrives upon Donna's exit and vows to bring all guilty parties to justice.

When Stephanie explains the reason why she believes that Rick's attacker is still on the loose, Taylor places an urgent call to Ridge. Ridge leaves Brooke's bed to unite with Taylor to put their plan in action. Stephanie makes an uninvited visit to Rick's house to warn him and Steffy about the danger that is still looming.

Stephanie comes to a conclusion about who made the attempts on Rick's life and vows to find proof. Rick and Steffy have an uncomfortable and eerie run-in with Marcus that leaves a lasting impression. Rocco Carner's sudden return to Los Angeles stirs up many questions and suspicions. When Stephanie interrupts a planned rendezvous planned by Donna, both women face-off over who they think made the attempts on Rick's life.

Ridge makes a pronouncement that no one, including Ridge himself, ever thought they would hear. Rick is reluctant to believe Ridge's sentiment. The police zero in on their prime suspect. After finding irrefutable evidence, they make an arrest. All gather in shock as the culprit is led out of the building in handcuffs. Stephanie is adamant that the alleged attacker is innocent.

Lt. and Charlie Baker find evidence at the crime scene that leads them to question Owen. His answers to their questions shed light on a few other suspects. Brooke tries to convince Rick to end his relationship with Steffy in order to save his own life. Taylor and Ridge make the same plea to Steffy. Tensions rise when Donna learns that Pam was rehired at Forrester Creations.

Another attempt on Rick's life sends him into a fit of rage at the person whom he thinks is responsible. Accusations fly as everyone is quick to point a finger at other guilty suspects. Ridge has his own theory about who was behind the attack. After telling Bridget about Rick firing him, he asks her for a favor. Rick stumbles upon a threatening note that leads him to believe that his life is still in grave danger.

Rick continues to burn bridges with those he is unpopular with. Owen and Thorne bond over their hatred for Rick, which is witnessed by Steffy. After questioning Marcus about his possible involvement in the attempt on Rick's life, Lt. Baker and Charlie find evidence that may be their answer. Brooke warns Rick to keep his secret from Ridge or the results could be dire. Meanwhile, Taylor fills Ridge in on that particular secret. This later leads to confrontations between Brooke and Taylor and then Rick and Ridge.

When Rick arrives to the office not many are pleased with his attendance, or the outcome of his first day back. The look on Steffy's face can't hide the secret that she is keeping. Learning what Steffy has done, an appalled Taylor insists on being the one to tell Ridge. Having left Pam and Owen in his wake, Rick receives threats; some more subtle than others. Ridge flips out when Brooke compares their relationship to Rick and Steffy's.

Brooke can't help but be concerned by Ridge's shady behavior and the damning evidence that surrounds him. After hearing both sides of the story and possible scenarios of the situation, Brooke doesn't know who to believe: Ridge or Rick. Lt. Baker sheds light on the cause behind the attempt on Rick's life. Marcus confesses his suppressed anger about his break-up with Steffy to Donna. Stephanie formulates her own scenario about the events which took place the night before.

Hearing from Taylor that Steffy has not gotten home yet, Ridge sets out to search for her in the one place he hopes she isn't. When Brooke wakes up to an empty bed, she calls Rick to warn him that he may be getting a visit from Ridge. Now alone after a romantic evening with Steffy, Rick is met with an alarming surprise. Taylor gives Steffy stern words of warning regarding her relationship with Rick. Suspicious behaviors transpire from many of Rick's enemies.

Learning that they are in the clear from Ridge coming to look for them, Rick and Steffy feel safe enough to take their relationship to the next level. Thorne, Marcus, Owen and Pam all agree that Rick needs to be taught a lesson and not be able to get away with all that he has. Seeing a crack in Brooke and Ridge's relationship, Stephanie nudges Taylor to make her move. Feeling betrayed by Brooke after their confrontation, Ridge is unable to sleep and takes off without notice.
