#5301 Wednesday, 4/30/08
Ridge begins to feel guilt over telling the police about Storm shooting Stephanie. Ridge fears that this may affect his relationship with Brooke. Brooke and Donna are tempted to open the note that Storm left behind even though it was addressed to Katie. Donna calls her father, Stephen, and asks him to come back to town to help the family deal with everything. Later, Brooke gives Katie the letter from Storm which reveals that he had left her a gift. Upset that Storm wasn't arrested, Stephanie has some choice words to say about him. Eric compares Stephanie to Storm, stating how both of them would do anything for their families.

Lt. Baker and his son, Charlie, arrive looking for Storm. Donna is angry at the sight of them and tells them to leave because Storm isn't around to arrest. Ridge apologizes to Brooke for telling the police about Storm shooting Stephanie and then asks if he has been arrested. Brooke tells Ridge about Storm's abrupt exit and how she regrets the things she said to him. Ashley tells Brooke how Storm was just trying to be heard and was reaching out to her, which she didn't realize until after the fact. Ashley understands Storm a lot better now and knows that he is very misunderstood. The note Storm left behind is found.

Ashley tells Ridge about her frightening evening with Storm. Tired of Storm's actions lately, Ridge decides to call Lt. Baker to tell him that Storm was the one who shot Stephanie. Lt. Baker chastises Ridge for withholding this evidence for so long. Ridge calls Brooke to warn her that the police are on their way to arrest Storm and that Storm will most likely be spending the rest of his life in jail. Brooke spends some quiet time with Storm and says some hurtful things to him about his recent behavior. After hearing that the police are after him, Storm concocts a plan to divert the cops and leaves a note behind.

Brooke tells Donna that Storm has been dating Ashley and how Ridge disapproves. The sisters know that Storm could never hurt anyone ever again and wish that Ridge would understand how much Storm has done for their family. Brooke hopes that Ashley is able to see the goodness in Storm despite Ridge's warning. Bridget pays a visit to Nick, happy to see that Katie is not there, and hopes for a quiet night home alone with him. When discussing Storm and Ashley, Bridget becomes offended by Nick's attitude towards Storm and his protectiveness of Ashley. Nick is unable to tell Bridget why he dislikes Storm because of the promise he made to Katie to keep her family's secret. Bridget senses that Nick has something against Storm and confronts him about it.

Storm tries to convince Ashley that he is not dangerous and promises that he would never be violent with her because he is falling in love with her. Katie explains to Nick how Storm had shot Stephanie because of the love her brother has for his family; Storm is the kind of person who protects the people he cares about, not hurt them. Katie assures Nick that Ashley would be lucky to have a man like Storm in her life. Stephanie calls a family meeting where she tells her children and Eric that she plans to step down from her position at Forrester Creations. Eric is extremely touched when Stephanie pronounces that she wants him to buy her half of the house and hold his and Donna's wedding there.

Nick confronts Katie about the conversation he had overheard about Storm being the one who had shot Stephanie. Katie tells Nick that this is a family secret and asks that he please not tell anyone. Alone in her house, Ashley remembers Ridge's warning about Storm. Ashley is startled when Storm makes his presence known and begins to confess to her about being a flawed man. Brooke tells a surprised Ridge of Taylor's engagement to Rick. Ridge thinks the engagement is a ploy and that Taylor's relationship with Rick will not go any further now that she has gotten custody of Jack again. Rick asks Taylor to please answer his proposal with a "yes." Taylor tells Rick that she can't answer him yet; she has to talk it over with her children, especially Phoebe.

The judge rules that Taylor's parental rights are to be reinstated. After the hearing, Brooke stops Taylor and asks if she could please have a place in Jack's life. Brooke then pleads to Taylor to please not marry Rick or take their relationship any further because it could only lead to hurt. Rick walks up and asks Taylor who she is going to listen to: Brooke or Rick. After presenting Ashley with a gift, Storm tells her that he feels that there is potential between the two of them and asks her not to let Ridge wreck it. Later, Storm tells Katie of his fear that Ashley knows about him shooting Stephanie. Katie and Storm are unaware of Nick overhearing their conversation.

At the courthouse, Taylor acknowledges that she hadn't answered Rick's proposal, and tells him that she needs to focus on Jack and consider Phoebe's feelings before she can answer. During the hearing, Nick testifies that he is not opposed to having joint custody with Taylor. After Brooke publicly condemns Taylor for her relationship with Rick during her testimony, Rick blurts out that he and Taylor are engaged to be married. Following Tiny's memorial service in the Forrester's backyard, Pam blames Donna for the dog's death and threatens retribution. Pam vows that the tricks she played on Donna recently are small in comparison of what's to come.

Nick and Taylor separately receive Taylor's psychic evaluation via messenger. The evaluation reads that the court finds Taylor competent of raising a child and a hearing will be conducted the following day to determine custody of Jack. Brooke is appalled by the results and asks Nick to hold off on joint custody until Taylor and Rick break up. Brooke is confident the break-up will eventually happen; if it doesn't, it would be her worst nightmare come true. Rick is baffled that Taylor isn't excited about the results of her evaluation. Through her lingering anger towards Brooke, Taylor vows that she will never again allow other people to tell her what she is permitted to do or, that Rick doesn't belong in her life.

Katie suggests to Nick that he should retain full custody of Jack until he is confident that Taylor is stable. Katie recommends that she and Nick can both be functioning parents to Jack until Taylor is well enough. Katie then admits that Jack has become very special to her and Nick is a pleasure to be around; a father unlike the one she had growing up. The growing chemistry between Katie and Nick becomes very apparent during this moment. Taylor begins to lapse into a moment of depression, thinking that she can't handle dealing with Brooke over custody of Jack. Rick promises to fight his mother right alongside of Taylor. During Rick's attempt to cheer Taylor up, the mood becomes playful and quickly turns passionate leading to Rick confess his desire to make love to her.

After taking some time to think about his decision, Nick tells Taylor of his concerns and adds how the court decided what is best for Jack right now. Nick tells her that he doesn't want to hurt her. Rick bursts in and tells Nick that he is hurting her and if he wants a war over this child, he's got one; one that Rick and Taylor are going to win. Rick then tears up the papers. Pam rigs Eric's phone so that she can hear his conversations with Donna. Donna voices to Eric her insecurity in their relationship, thinking that he may have grown tired of her. Hearing all of this, Pam gloats and loves that her plan is working.

During a flirtatious moment between Katie and Nick, Brooke enters and becomes suspicious of their involvement. The conversation quickly turns to Brooke's concern about Jack's welfare and her intent to convince Nick to not let Taylor have custody of their baby. Feeling alone without her child, Taylor is surprised by Rick who had his lawyers draw up custody papers for Nick to sign. Taylor and Rick pay a visit to Nick with the papers. Rick makes a plea to Nick, adding how he doesn't trust Brooke's intentions, to please relieve Taylor of the pain she has been going through while living without her baby. Ashley voices her appreciation to Ridge for warning her about Storm and then promises to keep the secret. Ridge admits to Ashley that he has always had a soft spot for her.

Storm can sense that Ashley's mood has changed since her conversation with Ridge earlier in the evening. After his unsuccessful and creepy attempt to extend their date, Ashley is able to shake Storm off but is unaware that he continues to watch her through her window. Bridget asks Katie what's going on between her and Nick and why Katie kissed him. After Katie promises Bridget that she and Nick are not involved, Bridget vows to not lose Nick to anyone; certainly not to Katie. Brooke is upset that Ridge told Ashley about Storm shooting Stephanie. Ridge assures Brooke that Ashley will not tell anyone.

After walking in on a conversation and observing their chemistry, Bridget is curious if there is something going on between Katie and Nick. Ridge learns from Brooke that Storm is on a date with Ashley. Extremely concerned about this, Ridge rushes out to warn Ashley about Storm's shady past. Storm and Ashley enjoy each other's company during a romantic dinner at Café Russe. Ashley becomes a bit alarmed after seeing a darker side of Storm. Later, Storm's blood begins to boil at the sight of Ridge speaking to Ashley in private. Storm hopes that Ridge isn't revealing his secret.

After Brooke consults Storm about legal advice regarding keeping Taylor away from Jack, Storm tells Brooke that Ridge fired him from the company. Taylor is frantic because of Brooke's threat to take her to court. Flustered and upset by Nick's feelings of their relationship, Bridget runs out the door. Bridget later confronts Katie about why Nick has been emotionally distant, and then vows to not give up on Nick because she knows that Nick loves her. Later, Katie frantically tells Nick that she can't take the guilt any longer; they need to confess to Bridget about their kiss.

Katie is appalled at her actions and becomes even more uncomfortable when Bridget asks her if Nick is seeing another woman. Bridget later confronts Nick and the look on his face is her answer. Nick confesses to Bridget that their relationship is moving too fast for him. After Rick kicks Ridge and Brooke out of Taylor's house, Brooke returns to speak with Taylor and is concerned to find her alone with the baby. Brooke threatens that as long as Taylor continues her relationship with Rick, Brooke will continue her fight to keep Taylor away from Jack. Brooke then tells Taylor that she will see her in court.

Phoebe told Rick and her family that she will be going on tour with Constantine, as long as Rick is okay with it. Ridge demands that Rick and Taylor end their relationship now that they know that Phoebe still has feelings for Rick. Brooke insists that she and Ridge take Jack back to Nick immediately but Rick adamantly refuses to let his mother take the baby anywhere. Brooke yells at Rick and Taylor as the couple embraces in alliance. Katie tells Nick that he needs to call things off with Bridget; Nick obviously doesn't love Bridget the way Bridget loves him. A conversation about acting on impulses triggers Katie to act on hers; she kisses Nick!

Despite Brooke's wishes, Nick allows Taylor to take Jack home for the night. Nick tells Brooke that she had the chance to be Jack's mother when Nick had asked her to be a family with him; her rights to Jack were revoked when she turned Nick down. Bridget tries to convince Ridge to marry Brooke as soon as possible so that Bridget can move on with Nick. Ridge confesses to Bridget that he plans on being very cautious before marrying Brooke again. Taylor is grateful to Rick and states that she owes Jack being home to him. Rick tells Taylor that he will fight with her to get her son back and the three of them will have a wonderful life together...forever

Storm is seething at Ridge after being fired and told to leave the building. After learning of their lunch date, Ridge threatens Storm to stay away from Ashley which leads to a physical confrontation between the two men. Despite Ridge's threat, Storm asks Ashley out for dinner that evening. Nick changes his mind about Taylor taking Jack home for an overnight visit after being informed by Brooke about Taylor's relationship with Rick. Taylor is livid when she learns that Brooke his behind Nick's sudden change of heart. When trying to get to her son, Brooke physically blocks Taylor's path, not allowing her anywhere near Jack. Taylor's emotional state is being challenged and her next move could play right into Brooke's hands.

Donna becomes extremely insecure about herself and her relationship with Eric after he had fallen asleep during her sexy seduction. When Eric wakes up, he is startled to find himself lying next to Stephanie. Stephanie gives Eric some words of wisdom regarding his relationship with Donna. Back at the office, Donna tells Katie that Stephanie may have been right all along; Donna isn't good enough for Eric and he will soon be tired of her. Storm is becoming more and more enamored of Ashley but then realizes that he may be coming on a little too strong. Storm later becomes furious when he realizes that Ridge is behind Brooke's attempt at dissuading Storm from pursuing Ashley.

Brooke convinces Storm to take Ashley out for lunch at Café Russe. Storm becomes a bit unglued when he suspects that Ashley may know that he is the one who had shot Stephanie. Not knowing that Ashley is out with Storm, Ridge becomes alarmed when Brooke tells him that Storm is seeing someone from the office. Pam replaces Eric's "little blue pills" with sleeping pills just before his lunch with Donna. A big damper is put on Donna's plans for a sexy tryst with Eric when he falls asleep during her seduction attempt. Pam fesses up to Stephanie of her sabotage towards Donna and the sisters share a good laugh.

Taylor struggles to resist Rick but eventually tells him that nothing can ever happen between the two of them because of Phoebe's lingering feelings for him. Phoebe unexpectedly returns home, forcing Rick to hide, as she excitedly tells Taylor of her evening with Rick. Afterwards, Taylor tries to, once again, end things with Rick but their intense feelings for each other take over. Determined to wipe away any doubt in Ridge's mind, Brooke tells him how committed she is to him and their future. Later, Brooke threatens an unaffected Ashley to stay away from Ridge. Brooke then concocts an idea to distract Ashley from Ridge.
