Brooke pleads with Stephanie, reminding her that on Christmas Stephanie said that she would do anything that Brooke had asked in exchange for forgiveness. Katie visits Stephen in jail and expresses to him her bottled-up feelings towards him. Taylor confesses to Nick that she thought that Baby Jack didn't like her. Later after a romantic evening, Taylor expresses her gratitude to Nick and assures him that she can be a good wife and mother as long as Brooke keeps her distance.

Brooke calls Stephanie to make plans to discuss the issues between the two of them. Brooke's intentions are to make a deal with Stephanie about helping to get Stephen out of jail. Stephanie tells Bridget that Brooke is stopping by to start their reconciliation and Stephanie would be willing to talk to Brooke about anything but Stephen. Brooke makes her plea to Stephanie.

Stephanie tells Ridge that she isn't giving up hope in regards to Eric, especially after the bond that she and Eric shared on Christmas. Donna voices her insecurity in her relationship with Eric after he had spent the holiday with his family. Eric assures Donna that she has nothing to worry about because he had consulted a lawyer about divorcing Stephanie. Later, Ridge visits Eric and tells him that Stephanie thinks that she has another chance with him. Eric tells Ridge that reconciling with Stephanie is not in the cards; he is in love with Donna. Eric then shows Ridge the divorce papers that he had drawn up.

Eric tries to change Stephanie's mind about canceling Christmas. Later in church, Stephanie has a spiritual moment which makes her questions her purpose in life. Eric calls his children to come to the house for Christmas despite Stephanie's request. Brooke tells Ridge and her children that she will not be attending Christmas with them at the Forrester mansion but will meet up with them later. Stephanie arrives home to find her family congregated together and the house decorated for the holiday. Stephanie's Scrooge-like attitude changes when Brooke enters with the intention to put their differences aside... at least for the holidays.

Ridge asks Eric for help in saving Christmas for the family. Ridge puts Donna on the spot which forces her to give Eric permission to spend the holiday with his family instead of her. Later, Eric gives Donna a special Christmas present with the promise of much more after the holidays.

Brooke convinces the shooter to confess. Stephanie goes to see Eric at his hotel room but finds Donna instead. Donna tells Stephanie that if she continues to pressure Eric to come back to her, Donna will make things ugly between them all; if Stephanie truly loves Eric, she will let him go. Later, Eric returns to his hotel room to Donna who tells him that she has committed herself to him forever and asks if he could do the same to her.

The shooter shocks Brooke with a slip of a confession. The motive behind the shooting and framing Stephen is revealed along with a plea to not go to the police. Stephanie feels the need to be cheered up so she visits Stephen in jail. Stephanie tells Stephen that if he confesses now, she will see to it that the DA goes easy on him; Stephen maintains his innocence. Stephanie tells Stephen that he had his chance, but since he didn't take it, she will see to it that he will be severely punished.

Brooke tells Katie who she suspects framed Stephen for shooting Stephanie. Ridge visits Eric telling of his concern for Stephanie's current state-of-mind. After Eric leaves to see Stephanie, Donna comes out in sexy festive lingerie, thinking that this was for Eric's eyes only, but finds Ridge there where his response is, "Ho, Ho, Ho!" Eric checks in on Stephanie where she informs him that she is canceling Christmas this year.

Stephanie opens up to Ridge about her fears of losing Eric and how she doesn't know how she we be able to make it through the holidays without him. Stephanie recalls her previous Christmases with Eric in a beautiful montage just after Ridge tells her to have hope for a Christmas miracle. Donna surprises Eric with a small Christmas tree for his hotel room as he deals with the dilemma of who to spend the holiday with: his family or Donna. Brooke visits Charlie to once again view the video tape depicting Stephanie's shooter. After telling Charlie of her suspicions that Stephen was framed, Charlie assures Brooke that all evidence clearly points at her father. The real shooter is aware of Brooke's suspicions.

Stephen gushes to Donna about his and Storm's newfound relationship; He has faith that Storm will find Stephanie's real shooter. Meanwhile, Brooke and Storm reminisce about their youth which causes Storm to grow angry at the many times that Stephen has let him down. Taylor reveals to Nick that seeing blonde hair grow on her baby's head is a constant reminder that Brooke is, and will always be, Jack's biological mother. While Taylor breaks down wondering if she'll ever be as good a mother as Brooke might have been, Baby Jack unexpectedly bonds with Taylor.

The Logan family celebrates Storm's birthday with cake and memories of their childhood. Amidst the celebration, Storm voices his concern that he may not be able to help set their father free but advises his sisters not to accept that Stephen is guilty just yet. Stephanie begs Eric to come back home to her. Eric tells Stephanie he's not coming back, that he's making his life with Donna. An eerie storm rolls into Los Angeles causing a blackout but shedding light on so much more.

Ridge gives Brooke an ultimatum - him, or Nick and Baby Jack. Brooke becomes extremely upset when Ridge lets it slip that he discussed the donor mix up with Ashley. Nick blindsides Taylor by suggesting that they invite Ridge and Brooke to Baby Jack's christening. Taylor refuses to allow Brooke to have a greater role in their lives than what she already has. After overhearing a phone call from Nick to Brooke, Ashley goes to the Shady Marlin II where she witnesses Nick and Brooke locked in an emotional embrace.

Brooke begins to feel guilty about seeing baby Jack on the sly and struggles with her emotions before deciding she needs to let go of the baby and walk away. Wanting to keep Brooke in baby Jack's life, Nick vows to fix things between him and Ridge. Ridge tells Ashley about Brooke being Baby Jack's biological mother but that Brooke has let go of Jack and any part in his life because Brooke wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize their future together. Later, Brooke tells Ridge how she feels about baby Jack and suggests that everyone attend Jack's christening as a start to bringing the two families together.

After reviewing evidence found on Jake's camcorder, Katie has even more reason to believe her father is guilty of shooting Stephanie. Stephanie's examination of the photograph returns the same results - she swears it is Stephen's hand in that picture. Stephen continues to proclaim his innocence to his daughters. Stephanie and Eric confront Stephen urging him to confess. After learning about the shooting, Ann calls Pam and urges her to come home for her own sake. Meanwhile, Taylor returns, confesses how she's missed her baby and vows to never spend another night away from home.

Stephen sneaks into the Forrester house and threatens Stephanie, claiming that he was framed. Eric escorts Stephen out of the home and calls Lt. Baker to have him arrested. Katie and Jake shuffle through the footage to find any evidence of who shot Stephanie and find something interesting. Brooke starts to believe that Stephen shot Stephanie as Donna defends his innocence. Jake brings the evidence to the Forrester as Katie brings a copy to her sisters. The Logan girls are in complete disbelief when they see the picture of who really shot Stephanie.

Stephanie arrives home from the hospital and is welcomed by her family. Donna witnesses Eric's genuine tenderness towards Stephanie and flees, thinking that her relationship with Eric is over. Jake tries to show Katie some concert footage on his camcorder only to find it was taped over by fashion show footage. When the footage shows parts of Brooke's confrontation with Stephanie, Katie realizes that he may have recorded the shooting as well.

Brooke becomes emotional when holding Baby Jack as she wonders what her role in his life will be. Nick is supportive of Brooke's connection with their child and recommends that Brooke still see Jack but only in secret. Stephen is released from prison and Storm brings him back to the family. Because if her lack of trust in him, Katie continues to think that Stephen is the one who shot Stephanie. Charlie is ready to move on to the next case but Lt. Baker thinks that Stephen wasn't the only one with motivation to shoot Stephanie . . .

Ridge confronts Nick about the picture Nick gave Brooke of Baby Jack and warns Nick not to do anything to mess up his happy family with Taylor. Phoebe assures Ashley that Ridge really did love her and later Ashley offers her friendship to him. Brooke talks to Katie about her feelings for Baby Jack. She decides to call Taylor to apologize for overstepping her boundaries earlier, but finds out that Taylor went on a trip. While on the phone, Brooke hears Baby Jack crying in the background and runs to his rescue.

Stephen has been arrested but proclaiming he's been framed. Storm promises to clear Stephen's name and to get him out on bail. Clarke questions Nick's knowledge of Jackie's whereabouts when he hears of Clarke's accusations. Clarke then accuses Nick of being the shooter. Ridge then questions and accuses Nick of shooting his mother. Stephanie maintains that Donna is the one who shot her but later flashes back to the many others people that had motive. Lt. Baker notifies Stephanie that Stephen has been arrested. Stephen uses his one phone call from prison to call Stephanie to inform her that her shooter is still on the loose . . .
