At the Malibu Beach House, Eric received a call from Brooke. He learned Bridget had not had an abortion after all. So Brooke instructed Eric to keep mum about what she had told him about her and Nick. Nick was now going to stay with Bridget and they were going to deny their feelings for one another. (Eric, like myself, thought a snowball would have a better chance in hell than that happening, but whatever.) While Eric was on the phone, Bridget arrived for a chat with her dear old dad. Eric hung up and immediately expressed worry about his daughter. It wasn't like her to pull some stunt like she did with the fake abortion. Bridget admitted she had reached the end of her rope and was driven to desperate measures. She had done the wrong thing, but now she knew for sure Nick was devoted to her. He was not in love with her mother. Eric's turned back and silence made Bridget suspect her father was hiding something from her. Eric hid his emotions and told his daughter he only wanted what was best for her. He only wanted her to be happy. (Then I suggest she book a one way ticket back to Copenhagen and take Dante along as a travel companion.)
Let's skip stories and go to that lovely cabana by the pool at Chez Ridge. Gaby-with-a-Y told her mother-in-law she and Thomas were in love. They weren't simply two horny teens getting it on. Taylor said the marriage was to be in name only. Thomas had married Gaby-with-a-Y to let her stay in the country. But the kids were too young to be tied down. They needed to date other people. There were to be no public displays of affection AND NO SEX! Gaby-with-a-Y insisted they would follow the rules. Taylor doubted that could happen and told her daughter-in-law to hit the road. Wouldn't you know it, Thomas arrived at that very minute and told his mother if his wife was leaving, so was he. He and Gaby-with-a-Y loved each other. They were married. There was nothing wrong with them making love. Taylor begged to differ but agreed Gaby-with-a-Y could stay the night...in her own room. In the morning, when everyone was calmer, they could discuss the matter. Perhaps Gaby-with-a-Y could visit her cousins in Arizona.
In the living room, Taylor left a voice mail for Ridge. She admitted he had been right. Things with Thomas and Gaby-with-a-Y had gotten out of hand - and the family already had enough trouble. (So what else is new?) But upstairs, Gaby-with-a-Y couldn't sleep. Her room was all soft and pretty with sheer curtains blowing in the wind. (First of all, that would have to be one strong wind to blow the curtains that much. Second, it's summer in Los Angeles. Are we to believe it's cool enough to sleep with the windows open? I think not! Turn on the air conditioning!) There was a knock on the door. It was Thomas. He couldn't let "their night" end like it had. Gaby-with-a-Y was concerned about Taylor discovering them. Thomas threw caution to the wind - that very strong Santa Ana wind, I suppose - and took Gaby-with-a-Y to bed!
Meanwhile, Nick was pounding on the front door of Brooke's Old Place. She told him to go away but he threatened to scream his love for her for the neighbors to hear. Brooke decided to let him in but insisted he leave. Nick professed his love for her. He knew he had agreed to keep it under wraps for Bridget's sake. But he could not do it. He loved Brooke and not her daughter. His mother had been right. Stephanie had been right. Eric had been right. Bridget had been right. Dear Abby had been right. (Well, if they had written Dear Abby for her advice, she would have told them the same thing.) Brooke protested. She could not fall in love with Nick. He belonged with Bridget. Bridget was carrying his child. She could not steal another man away from her daughter. Nick responded they could not deny their feelings. They were soul mates and nothing would e able to keep them apart. Nick leaned in for a kiss, Brooke almost gave in, but resisted. She pushed Nick away, told him to leave, and headed for the stairs. Not to e deterred, Nick stopped her at the very first step. He pulled her close. He was not giving up. (Very Gone With the Wind, don't you think?)
"God help me," Brooke moaned as she fell into Nick's arms. They melted to the floor and some swanky music played which indicated they planned on some sweet lovin' right there on the carpet!
"God help me," Mr. Smartypants moaned.

Bridget was hard at work with a file folder in that office at the hospital when Dante stopped in. (If you need a physical, buddy, turn your head and cough.) But I digress. Dante was interested to hear of Nick's reaction after learning Bridget did not have the abortion. Bridget explained he was hurting, but she was sure everything would work out. She had been so foolish not to trust him. He and Brooke had told her they would keep their feelings for each other in check. She simply wanted to put the past behind her and move on in a life with Nick and their child. Dante now needed to move on as well. He deserved better than being her backup plan. Cocky, Dante agreed he'd have no trouble finding a new lady to pursue.
On the Shady Marlin, Jackie had decided not to leave until Nick heard all she had to say. She wanted him to be honest with his feelings. He loved Brooke and he had to be true to the way he felt. Nick responded he didn't want his child to grow up without a father as he had. Jackie agreed she had let Massimo slip away from her because she had been afraid. Nick should learn from her mistake. He had to follow his heart to Brooke. Staying with someone out of duty was not a good lesson to teach a child anyway. But Nick argued he had promised Bridget she could always depend on him. If he now proved her insecurities to be correct by being with Brooke, what kind of man did that make him? Jackie said he would not be doing Bridget any favors by staying with her just because of the baby. Honesty and truth were the only way to truly be happy. Jackie had learned that the hard way. She hoped her son learned if before it was too late. After Jackie left, Nick called Brooke. He had to see her immediately. (Miss Lesley Anne Down pronounced the word "charade" with "ah" in the second syllable today. "sha - rahed." I love her. It sounds so much better than the nasal "sha-raid" we Americans snort out.
Meanwhile, Thomas returned to Chez Ridge with Taylor, Phoebe, Steffy, and Gaby-with-a-Y. The women all raved about Thomas' designs and his success. Taylor said how proud Ridge had been of his son's work. Thomas wanted to know why Ridge had stormed out of the fashion show. If he was so proud, why didn't he come home with them to celebrate? The twins went upstairs to bed. Taylor explained her marital problems with Ridge didn't need to be discussed right then and there. Thomas wondered if some of the discord revolved around his marriage to Gaby-with-a-Y. Taylor admitted Ridge had seen the couple kissing backstage at Spectra Fashions. She had made it clear there was to be no hanky-panky. The teens said they had been caught up in the moment. They would be good. Taylor went up to bed. Thomas told Gaby-with-a-Y to meet him at the pool cabana in a few minutes. (I'm wondering why Taylor doesn't want the couple to have sex. They are legally married. Everyone knows they are married. She mentioned something about not wanting to set the wrong example for the twins. But what's the big deal? They are married - why not go ahead and be a married couple? And what is the harm in a little, bitty kiss?)
Down at the cabana, Thomas had lit about a hundred candles to set a romantic mood. (I sure hope Bed, Bath & Beyond had a sale. I can't imagine the expense of all that romance....or the heat!) Gaby-with-a-Y arrived and was blown away by the atmosphere. Thomas earnestly declared his loved for his wife. He knew they had simply gotten married to keep her in the country. But he had grown to love her. Gaby-with-a-Y felt the same way. She always felt safe with Thomas. He had made her happy again after her mother died. She wanted to show him how she felt about him. Thomas wanted the same thing....but oops! He had forgotten to bring protection. He'd go up to his room and be right back.
But while Thomas was away, Taylor found Gaby-with-a-Y alone in the love shack. Taylor was furious. It was obvious what was going on. She had made one simple rule and Gaby-with-a-Y was about to break it. After all she had done for Gaby-with-a-Y, this was the thanks she got. Gaby-with-a-Y tried to explain nothing had happened. She was sorry and it would never almost happen again. All she needed was another chance. Taylor scoffed. She was not going to give the couple another chance to betray her. Gaby-with-a-Y was to go upstairs and immediately pack her things. She could call Stephanie and stay with her. But she was to leave Chez Ridge right away.
"No," Gaby-with-a-Y replied. She wasn't planning to go anywhere. (Oh, that's right girl! Uh huh! You stick up for yourself. You tell that self-righteous minx a thing or two.)

The storm had passed and a new day dawned on the city of Los Angeles. Bridget stopped by the Shady Marlin and found Nick tying knots in a rope. (I'm sure it was nautical in nature.) She asked him again to forgive her for lying about having an abortion. Nick was stoic and uncommunicative. Bridget said she didn't know what she'd do if she lost him. Their future with their child was everything to her. Nick went into protective mode. He didn't want her to get upset. It wasn't good for her or the baby. He offered to rustle her up some grub. Bridget declined the tasty offer and went to the cabin to get her lab coat. While Bridget was below deck an elated Jackie ran on board. She was ecstatic her son had finally admitted his feelings for Brooke. Nick put the kibosh on Jackie's celebration and quickly told her Bridget had not terminated her pregnancy after all. Bridget returned to the deck and bade a fond farewell to Nick. After she was gone, Nick informed his mother he was going to have to stick with Bridget. He was going to be a father and Brooke wanted it that way. But Jackie knew better. Her son was an honest man above all else. He would not be able to lie to Bridget about his true feelings.
Elsewhere, it was the day of Thomas' debut show at Spectra Fashions. Backstage, everyone was working hard to get things ready. Gaby-with-a-Y arrived to wish her husband luck. Taylor, Phoebe, and Steffy showed up backstage to congratulate Thomas on all he had accomplished. Thomas was disappointed Ridge had not come with them. Taylor was certain he'd be there soon. Nothing would keep him away from his son's big day. (Well, nothing except Morgan kidnapping him to Venice, that is.) Thomas said he hoped they could all celebrate at the house as a family after the show. Taylor did not make any promises. The ladies took their seats in the front of the house and Ridge came backstage to see Thomas. He was sure proud of the boy. Thomas told his dad his desire for the family to go home and celebrate after the showing. Ridge was non-committal. Alone with Gaby-with-a-Y, Thomas hoped the show would make a miracle happen. He wanted his family back together. (What?!? Is Thomas six years old? He's a grown man with a wife, a history of sex with the town hussy, and a job as a big shot fashion designer. Now all he wants in life is for his mommy and daddy to live together? That's just silly. Grow up! You're father's a wishy washy dude with an ego rivaling that of Donald Trump! Ain't gonna happen!) Later, Thomas told Gaby-with-a-Y he had a special celebration planned for just the two of them after the show. (Uh, hey, kiddo! What happened to your one true wish of the entire family heading back to Chez Ridge to play Parcheesi after it's all over? Make up your mind, would ya?)
Sally started the show with a bang by being escorted by shirtless hunks on stage. The show began and it appeared all five dressed were a big hit! (I've got a question. When did fashion models start walking down the catwalk by crossing one foot over the other. I've watched the Style channel from time to time and seen this alarming trend. The models move as gracefully as a cow strutting through an asphalt parking lot full of chug holes. I noticed some of today's models attempting the same move. What's up with that?) The entire crowd was thrilled with the show. Taylor and Ridge sat side by side on the front row. They were so proud of their son! Taylor told Ridge Thomas would love the praise of his father, but what he really wanted was for him to move back home - for them to be a family again. Ridge wanted that too. As Thomas took his standing ovation on stage, he noticed his parents getting along. But he didn't hear Taylor ask Ridge to go to counseling with her. Ridge refused and stormed out of the room. Thomas' happiness turned to despair as he watched his father leave. A single tear rolled down his cheek.
Hey! Gaby-with-a-Y! I want you to slap that kid across the face - HARD! Tell him to snap out of it. He's got bigger fish to fry than worrying if daddy still loves him. Puh-leeze! Hey! Taylor! I want to you slap that doo-doo head Ridge across the face - HARD! Tell him to shape up or ship out. I'm hoping he chooses the ship out option. Then make a lunch date with that Hottie McHottie Dante and move on. Hey! Sally! I want you to send those shirtless hunks over to my place for a par-tay!

Late at night, things were all abuzz at Spectra Fashions. Sally, Clarke, Thorne, Darla, and Thomas prepared for a big fashion show the next day. Gaby-with-a-Y dropped in with some food (at least I think it was food) for the troops. Thomas was pleasantly surprised and the couple shared a peck on the lips and lots of goo-goo eyes until Clarke cracked the whip. Thomas had a lot of work left to do. Gaby-with-a-Y looked on admiringly. Darla noticed her gaze and asked if she was proud of her husband. Gaby-with-a-Y admitted she felt more than pride towards Thomas. In fact, she was downright horny for the boy! She had never "been with" a man but she sure wanted to "be with" Thomas. Darla understood the girl's feelings but told her not to go against Taylor's edict. There was nothing worse she could do than make an enemy of Taylor. Gaby-with-a-Y agreed, but what to do with her raging hormones? (I've got a question. What does Stephanie have to say about Thomas marrying Gaby-with-a-Y to keep her in the country? I'm sure she's got a strong opinion. I think we need to hear her weigh in on the subject.)
Meanwhile, Eric invited Jackie to the Malibu Beach House to share a drink and news of Bridget's abortion. (Just some friendly chit-chat, you know.) Jackie was stunned at the news. She was certain Nick would be devastated to lose a child. Eric said that wasn't all. He had spoken with Brooke. She and Nick had finally admitted they had feelings for each other. Bridget's knowledge of that love drove her to terminate the pregnancy. Although Jackie was horrified at Bridget's action and knew she was going through a lot of pain, she suspected everything was happening for a reason. Eric had known Brooke for a long time and he didn't think he had ever seen her more in love. Jackie thought Brooke and Nick might finally find the happiness they both so richly deserved. (Oh, come on lady. But a vowel and get a clue. This is a soap opera. They aren't going to be happy.)
And all we have to do is go over to Brooke's Old Place to find that to be true. Right there in a the living room, a stunned Brooke could only stare at her daughter. Bridget had not terminated the pregnancy. She was still carrying Nick's child. Bridget took her mother's silence as a sign she was angry at the deception. So Bridget explained for the umpteenth time how her insecurities had flared up when she walked in on Nick and Brooke sharing what appeared to be a romantic dinner. Between that and her pregnant hormones coursing through her veins, she had been driven to desperate measures. She had been wrong. She admitted that. She never should have lied about aborting the baby. But couldn't they see what had happened? And in the end, everything was going to be OK. She was still pregnant with Nick's child. All they had to do was forgive her for her stupidity of putting them to the test and everything could go back to the way it had been. Nick stepped up to the plate and said things had changed in the last few days - more than Bridget could know. He was ready to tell her the truth about his feelings for Brooke when Bridget experienced some abdominal pain. Brooke and Nick rushed to her side. Was the baby OK? Bridget explained it had simply been a "twinge." But she thought she should rest. She had not been able to eat or sleep for the past few days.
Bridget went upstairs for a nap. (A nap? It's dark outside - just go to bed for crying out loud.) Brooke and Nick went out to the terrace. Brooke wept. She couldn't believe Nick was actually going to tell Bridget about their feelings for each other. Nick said he would be a good father to the baby, but Bridget had to know the truth. He could not live a lie. Brooke informed him he would jolly well live a lie. They had to forget about their love for Bridget's sake. Nick said he couldn't do it. Sweet Nike athletic shoes! "Just do it," Brooke tearfully uttered.

On the Shady Marlin, Nick was in a trance after hearing Bridget tell him she had not had an abortion. She explained how she had allowed her insecurities to get the best of her. They took her to the darkest place imaginable. She had devised this test to see what he would do if her were free of any obligation to her. Would he run into her mother's arms? She now realized how cruel she had been and how much she hurt him. But she simply had to find out the answer. She should have known better. He was the only man she could trust in her life. She believed in their love and now they could have the family they wanted. Nick had remained eerily quiet during Bridget's L-E-N-G-T-H-Y explanation. When he finally spoke, he uttered the word "test?" Bridget understood he was upset, but hoped he could forgive her. After all, he should be relieved his child was still alive. Nick exploded! How could she have lied to him? He had been so devastated he had planned to wreck his boat in the storm. Now she thought she could simply waltz back into his life and everything would be just fine. Nick then asked if Bridget had spoken to her mother. Bridget replied she had not. Nick thought they should go over to Brooke's Old Place immediately and tell her the news. Bridget figured Brooke would forgive her. She wanted to work things out with Nick first. Nick stated they were leaving right away. Bridget was confused.
Over at Brooke's Old Place, Eric dropped in for a visit. He had heard from Stephanie about Bridget' pregnancy and wanted to know how their daughter was doing. (Not so good, buddy.) Brooke explained Bridget had terminated her pregnancy. She and Nick felt horrible about their part in the tragedy, but something wonderful had come out it. Eric could not believe there was an up-side to Bridget's abortion. Brooke related how it opened her eyes to realize everyone had been right all along. She loved Nick and he loved her. Eric had a fit! What was Brooke thinking? How could she steal another man from her daughter? Brooke whined this was the love she had been looking for all her life. Bridget had turned her back on Nick, but she never would. Disgusted by yet another one of her explanations, Eric left. He hoped Bridget was half as strong as Brooke thought she was.
Later, Nick and Bridget arrived at Brooke's Old Place. Bridget was thrilled to see Nick and happy to see Bridget was OK. Bridget said she had to apologize to her mother. She had done a very bad thing. Brooke replied there was nothing to feel bad about. She understood what had happened. Bridget said she and Nick had talked. Brook thought he had told her about their new-found love. But Nick screamed for Bridget to tell her mother the truth. Bridget confessed she had not had an abortion after all. She was still pregnant with Nick's child. Poor Brooke looked as if she'd just learned Fruity Pebbles aren't made out of fruit at all. She stumbled and sat on the coffee table. Bridget cried she wanted her mother's forgiveness. She wanted the life Nick had promised her with a child. She couldn't have it if Brooke was mad at her. So, what do you say, Mom? Let bygones be bygones?
Oh, this is another fine mess we've gotten into.
