Episode 4980 Friday, January 19, 2007
At The Old Forrester Creations (which is actually The New Forrester Creations with Nick at the helm but I'll call it The Old Forrester Creations so as not to confuse it with new fashion venture by Eric and his clan and you'll understand why I didn't decide to call it The Original Forrester Creation in a short while) Donna told Nick she had received an invitation to the huge announcement/reception the Forrester Family was holding for their new company. Nick suggested she attend to check out the enemy. Donna vowed her loyalty to Mr. Marone. She now understood what Brooke had seen in him. Ridge arrived to stir up some trouble. He insulted Donna as she left. (Uh, wasn't he romantically involved with her very recently? He is such a clod!) Ridge had come to return the wedding gift Nick had dropped off for Taylor and Thorne. Ridge threw the present, still girt wrapped, to the floor. We heard the sound of glass breaking! (Rude! Not only is he a clod, he's rude. And why does Ridge have the gift anyway? Nick took it to Taylor and Thorne's Dream House last night. Why would Ridge even know it existed?) Nick was unimpressed with Ridge's hijinx. The two men argued about how successful the new Forrester business would be.
We literally flew over to the new offices of Forrester. (The large office we saw looked suspiciously like Ridge's old office at Marone Industries. Of course the big swirly "M"s were gone from the doors and the furniture looked a little nicer but the walls and windows looked exactly the same.) There was great hubbub as everyone prepared for the big show. Donna showed up to see her big sister. Felicia was the first to tell her to take a hike. They didn't want any spies from the other camp. Eric took Thorne, Felicia, Phoebe, and Taylor to the showroom. On the way there, Taylor was fed up with everyone bad-mouthing Nick. After what Stephanie had done to humiliate Jackie, Taylor didn't think the Forrester family had much room to talk about bad behavior.
Back in the main office, Brooke offered her sister at job at her new company. Donna was taken by surprise. She was flattered but had made a commitment to Nick. Ridge arrived and added he didn't want Donna around. She was a turncoat. She had signed on with the losers. Privately, Brooke apologized to her sister for Ridge's rude remarks. Donna loved her sister but feared she would eventually be burned by the Forrester family again. Brooke got ready for the big moment and Donna
stood in the back of the show room.
With Ridge, Thorne, and Felicia by his side, Eric made the big announcement. They were starting a new company called Forrester Originals! (You now see why it would be too confusing to call the two companies The Original Forrester Creations and Forrester Originals - although it could be cute. Let me think on it for a little while.) They would concentrate on one-of-a-kind designer gowns to be found in only the most exclusive of boutiques. Brooke appeared modeling a stunning dress. Ridge hopped on stage and proposed to her. He started to make a big flowery speech but cut it short with...
The Quote of the Day: "Oh hell, you know the drill. What's your answer?" (Yes, Brooke does indeed know the drill of marriage proposals. She has accepted proposals even more times than she's gotten married!) On live television Brooke happily accepted Ridge's proposal.
Back at The Old and/or Original Forrester Creations Jackie, Nick, Clarke, and Storm watched coverage of the event. Storm wanted to sue the opposition for use of the Forrester name. It violated the terms of their sales agreement. But Nick thought it might be best to be patient and wait out their game. Too much of a stink might push sympathy to Forrester Originals. But Ridge's proposal got to Nick. Jackie ushered Clarke and Storm from the office and then checked on her son. Nick was curious who had been invited to the Forrester's soiree. Jackie explained the buyer's from the exclusive boutiques would be there. That was who the Forrester would be courting for their new product. Nick thought the Forresters had painted themselves into a corner by concentrating on only one type of fashion. He would buy those boutiques and then refuse to carry the Forrester gowns. Their business would fail. He spouted....
Another Quote of the Day: "It will be a bust of Biblical proportions." (What would that be? Pamela Anderson?
Episode 4979 Thursday, January 18, 2007
It was already the day of Taylor and Thorne's wedding. In the CEO's office at Forrester Creations, Jackie encouraged her son to try and stop the nuptials. Nick reinforced his original sentiment. He was finished going to any length to protect those he loved. Taylor had made him see how much trouble that caused in his life. Besides, he had an important meeting to conduct. Clarke, Donna, and Storm entered the office. Nick told them the next day the Forresters were going to announce their new fashion venture. The success of the original Forrester Creations depended on the failure of Eric and Ridge's new business. Nick needed to know his staff was on board. Clarke, Storm, Donna, and Jackie all agreed they were behind Nick 100%. Nick told his minions to figure out a way to keep media attention away from the Forresters' coming announcement. He picked up a wrapped gift and headed out the door. Jackie assumed Nick had a change of heart and was going to stop the wedding. Nick replied he was simply going to take a gift to a friend. Jackie was still encouraged. (Um, what exactly is Storm doing for Nick these days? Not that I mind, of course. Storm was looking all scruffy and hot with some beard growth and his suit. Perhaps he's the new model for the men's line. I like that! Run with it!)
At the Forrester Mansion there were more scenes and cast members than a high school production of The Sound of Music. I'll try to be as brief as I can. (Too bad our high school drama teacher, Mr. Latimer, didn't feel the same way about that abbey scene.) On the terrace, Thorne presented Allie with a heart-shaped locket with a photo of Darla inside. It was to signify her mother would always be in her heart. Phoebe then spoke with Allie about forgiving her. Then Allie spent some time with Bridget. She asked how long Bridget was sad after her baby died. Bridget explained there was no timetable for not feeling sad. It was OK to feel however she wanted to feel.
Inside it was explained that Kristen and Tony could not attend the wedding because they had planned a trip to Africa. Stephanie and Ann were stuck in Chicago because a blizzard had grounded all flights. But Thorne and Taylor agreed they would go on with the wedding. (No mention was made why Taylor and Ridge's other daughter, Steffy, was not there.) While Pam was cleaning up the library, she discovered the photos of Taylor which Allie had defaced. She showed the artwork to Eric. They agreed it was best to keep the graffiti-ed pictures a secret until Taylor and Thorne returned from their honeymoon. Ridge assisted Thorne with his bow tie. They wished they could wait to unveil their new business until Thorne returned. But they agreed it would be best to get the business started as soon as possible.
Upstairs, Taylor put on her makeup as she recalled Nick's words. She couldn't shake his advice to not marry Thorne out of guilt. Brooke arrived and offered some help. Taylor quipped...
The Quote of the Day: "Define help." (Good one, sister friend.)
Brooke knew the two of them shared an unsavory past. But they would soon be sisters-in-law. Brooke asked "Who would have thought?" (Weren't Taylor and Brooke sisters-in-law once before when the former was married to Ridge and the latter to Thorne? All they've done is switch husbands!) Brooke reminded Taylor not to get involved with Nick. Taylor made it clear that was not a problem. Phoebe came to talk to her mother. She said the mood was somber because of what had happened with Forrester Creations. Taylor said she didn't feel sorry for the family. They got what they had coming after their despicable actions. Phoebe wondered why her mother was defending Nick. Taylor then invited Allie to help her get dressed. What a shock when Taylor discovered her dress had been cut to shreds by a pair of child's safety scissors. Thorne and Taylor decided they could not get married after all. Allie's emotional health was too important. Taylor decided to sneak out the back door and be driven home. Thorne went downstairs and told his family they had decided to postpone the wedding because the whole family could not attend. (Taylor didn't want Allie to feel responsible for the postponement.)
Later, Eric showed Thorne what Allie had done to Taylor's photos. Thorne presented the evidence to his daughter. She mumbled...
The Second Quote of the Day: "I don't know why I'm so bad." (If I had a nickel for every time I've said that I'd be on a jet to Paris right now!)
Thorne made it clear no one thought she was a bad girl. It was clear she was hurt and angry. They would work on the future together.
Meanwhile, Nick walked through the unlocked door at Taylor and Thorne's Dream House. He was surprised to find Taylor crying on the couch. (He explained he had hoped to "slip" a present in. By breaking into the house? Surely he hadn't expected to find the door unlocked, had he?) Taylor told him the wedding had been a no go. She felt like a fool for trying to fix Thorne and Allie's broken hearts by marrying Thorne. Nick hugged Taylor and told her not to be upset. She had acted out of love. But there were dreams she hadn't yet dreamed. (What on earth is he talking about? Who's the psychiatrist here anyway?)
Episode 4978 Wednesday, January 17, 2007
Sunrise. Sunset. Swiftly flow the days. Bridget stopped by Nick's office at Forrester Creations for a friendly "hello" and perhaps a trip to the vending machines for a Kit Kat bar. She was surprised to overhear Nick talk to his lawyer about having signed divorce papers to end his marriage with Brooke. Bridget quizzed Nick about his sudden agreement to the divorce. Nick stated the time had come. His therapy sessions with Taylor made him realize there was no need to hang on to something that was obviously over. Bridget understood his feelings and was happy to see he seemed to be adjusting well. Jackie walked in and was also shocked by the divorce news. Bridget apologized to both Jackie and Nick for what Stephanie had done to them. She believed if Stephanie had left well enough alone, her father would be back at the helm of his company. But she was not there to plead anyone's case. She simply wanted to check on both her ex-husband and her ex-mother-in-law. The conversation turned to Taylor and Thorne's wedding the following day. But with Allie's resentment of Taylor it was not certain if there would be a ceremony or not. Bridget and Nick agreed Taylor was marrying Thorne for all the wrong reasons.
After Bridget left, Jackie needled her son about his involvement with Taylor. Nick explained how he had voiced his opinion to Taylor. She was adult and could listen to what he had to say or not. Nick made it clear he was finished being the white knight riding in to save the damsel in distress. Jackie urged Nick to try harder to stop the wedding. Nick did not take heed. He announced someone else would have to stop the nuptials.
Meanwhile, Ridge dropped by Taylor and Thorne's Dream House. Taylor was deep in thought remembering Nick's words of warning when he arrived. Ridge wanted to ask his former wife about Brooke's theory of something going on between her and Nick. Taylor was indignant. Ridge admitted Brooke's hypothesis was silly. He wanted to Taylor to confirm Brooke was talking crazy. Taylor responded with...
The Quote of the Day: "I hate to state the obvious." (Ouch! That's going to leave a mark.)
Taylor didn't want to dignify Brooke's idea with an answer. The family was waiting for them at the Forrester Mansion. It seemed like they decided it would be a good idea to gang up on Allie and get her to agree to the wedding.
Over at the Forrester Mansion, Pam oversaw the preparations for the wedding. Eric thanked his sister-in-law for her help. With Stephanie being in Chicago with Ann, it helped to have Pam look over things. Pam only hoped her sister and mother would make it to the ceremony the following day. Felicia wasn't so sure there would be a wedding. She didn't think Allie would ever go for it. Thorne arrived with Allie. Seeing the flowers and decorations for a wedding, Allie asked to leave immediately. Felicia had a little chat with her niece. Fifi told her that Darla's death had been an accident. It was hard to understand, but if you accidentally did something bad, it didn't make you a bad person. Ridge and Taylor showed up. Thorne and Taylor sat on the couch with Allie. Taylor made it clear they didn't want to pressure her into anything. If Allie did not want her father to get
married the next day, they would wait until she was ready. Allie seemed to like that idea and asked if she could take all the flowers home. Disheartened, Thorne and Taylor walked to the foyer. They agreed they would postpone the wedding until Allie had time to adjust. But seeing her father sad upset the tyke. She picked a rose from a bouquet and gave it to Taylor. She told her father she wanted him to be happy. It was OK for him to marry Taylor the following day. There was great rejoicing at the Forrester Mansion.
Hold your horses, folks! A little later Thorne checked on his daughter. She was coloring in the library. (And I mean on paper with Crayons. She was not dying anyone's hair.) Allie seemed to be happy as a lark. But when Thorne left the room we got a gander at Allie's latest masterpiece. Instead of happy butterflies and ladybugs, Allie had found four photos of her father with Taylor. With the darkest, biggest, black crayon she could find, Allie was scribbling over Taylor's face!
You know, I knew I liked that kid.
Episode 4977 Tuesday, January 16, 2007
At the Forrester Mansion, Bridget apologized to her father for dwelling on her feelings for Nick when she knew how much Eric disliked the man. Eric understood his daughter's feelings and wished he could be the kind of father she could talk to about anything. But her mixed emotions about Nick perplexed him. He suggested she consult Taylor. Bridget was a little surprised her father thought she needed professional psychiatric help to deal with her feelings for Nick.
At Taylor and Thorne's Dream House, Brooke was determined to get information from Taylor and Nick about any relationship they might have. Taylor stepped forward and told Brooke even if something was going on between the two of them it was n
one of her business. Brooke replied the Forrester family was her business. Taylor had made a commitment to Thorne. It would not be cool to change her mind at this point in time. (Oh, like you did when you were married to Thorne? Hey Brooke! You are the all-knowing authority on breaking hearts. So keep your opinions to yourself.) Taylor took my side and told Brooke it was time for her to leave.
Brooke pulled Nick aside and begged him not to pursue Taylor any further. She could not take it and neither could Bridget. (So what's your real concern Brooke? The Forrester family? Your daughter's happiness? Your ego?) After Brooke left, Taylor was forced to agree with some of Brooke's statements. She wondered if Nick had an ulterior motive of getting close to her to further hurt the Forrester family. Nick adamantly denied any such intention. Taylor then stated it might be best for him to seek professional advice from someone else. It seemed their doctor/patient relationship had gotten somewhat blurred. (Really? Ya think?)
Bridget called Nick and interrupted the conversation. She told her ex-husband she had been
thinking about him recently. She wanted to get together and just talk. How about she make dinner for them sometime next week? Nick agreed. After Nick ended his phone call Taylor suggested he spend time with Bridget. Maybe she could make him happy. Nick protested but was stopped when Taylor received a phone call from Thorne. He reported Allie had talked to him a little bit. It seemed she was beginning to understand Darla's death had been an accident. In his opinion, the wedding was going to happen as scheduled. after Taylor hung up, Nick tried to get her to see she was only marrying Thorne and caring for Allie because she felt obliged. He begged her not to make a mistake she would later regret.
At Brooke's Old Place, Ridge had a confrontation with Phoebe and Shane. Phoebe told her father she had not hid her relationship with the former vagrant. Shane was important to her. He now had his own apartment and a new job. Ridge was nonplussed and spit...
The Quote of the Day: "I don't care if you have a job saving kittens or helping old ladies. Stay away from my daughter!" (Ah, c'mon Ridge. Even if he saved kittens? You're a cold, cold man, Ridge Forrester.)
Shane did not blame Ridge for his attitude. If Phoebe were his daughter he'd want to keep her away from shady characters as well. Shane explained how seeing the Forrester family's love for each other and experiencing Phoebe's support had changed him. He wanted to be a better person. He planned to prove it to Ridge and be worthy of Phoebe's love.
Shane and Phoebe disappeared. Brooke returned home and reported her encounter at TNT's Dream House to Ridge. Ridge was thrilled to see Nick had initiated and signed divorce papers. But Brooke's sour demeanor gave him pause. Brooke said Nick's sudden eagerness for the divorce made her think he had something up his sleeve. She said she feared he might be interested in Taylor. Ridge scoffed at the idea. There was no way Taylor would get involved with Nick. Brooke hoped he was right. Thorne and Bridget would both be terribly hurt if such a hook up occurred.
Butt out, Brooke! I can't emphasize this enough. Butt out! You're working my last frazzled
Episode 4976 Monday, January 15, 2007
Don't worry rabid readers; there is no need for dead baby alert. Taylor managed to bring her car to a screeching halt in the nick of time and narrowly avoided hitting Allie. Thorne tightly hugged his daughter as Taylor drove them home. Once there,
Thorne was gentle yet firm in telling his daughter she had acted in a reckless manner. Allie was still upset and slurred...
The Quote of the Day: "But you lied to me. Bof of you." (#1. It's a soap opera kid. Get used to being lied to. #2. Let's get Little Allie some enunciation lessons, all right?)
Allie made it clear she hated Taylor. It was her fault her mommy was dead. She didn't understand how her father could marry that woman. Allie ran off to bed. Taylor was devastated. It had been foolish of her to think this big reveal would go smoothly. (No argument from this side of the screen.) Thorne reminded his fiancé he had been upset when he learned the truth but he had forgiven her. Taylor pointed out Thorne was an adult. Allie was just a child and would not process what had happened in the same way. Thorne replied he knew everything would work out. He loved Taylor and nothing was going to keep them apart.
Bridget dropped by the Forrester Mansion for a little visit with Aunt Pam. (Although she's not really your aunt, honey. Pam is Stephanie's sister and Stephanie is not your mother.) But I quibble. Alone with her father, Bridget revealed Shane had been staying with her but had moved out and gotten a place of his own. Eric was shocked. Bridget
understood his concern but said it had actually been nice to have someone else around. She hadn't felt that way since she had been married to Nick. Eric didn't even want to discuss the man. Bridget knew Nick's recent actions had hurt her family. But she knew he was not an evil man. He was simply protecting his mother. Stephanie had crossed the line one too many times. Eric grew concerned his daughter had lingering feelings for her ex-husband. Bridget admitted she still cared for him. Learning about his childhood certainly explained a good deal of his actions. Eric didn't like hearing Bridget talk like that.
Over at Taylor and Thorne's Dream House, Nick waited around for Taylor to return. Brooke arrived to check on how things were going with Allie. Nick related how the tot had wanted to go back to Thorne's Beach House. Taylor had left to see if she was alright. Brooke then wondered why Nick was hanging around. Was he there to offer some support? Nick said he had indeed stayed in case Taylor needed a friendly ear when she returned. And by the way, Brooke, here are our divorce papers for you to sign. Brooke was taken aback by the legal documents. Nick wondered if a divorce was what she really wanted. Brooke replied she wanted both of them to be happy - she with Ridge and Nick with whomever he chose. But the suddenness of the divorce papers made her wonder. Was there someone in whom he was interested?
The moment was broken by Taylor's return. She needed a stiff glass of water to calm her nerves as she told Brooke and Nick what had happened on the Pacific Coast Highway. She again bemoaned how stupid it was to think she could build a life with the family of the mother and wife she had killed. Nick agreed. He told Taylor she was wasting her time with Thorne. She didn't love him. It was obvious she only was engaged to him out of guilt. Brooke could not believe her ears. Was Nick trying to sabotage the Forrester f
amily again? Nick said that was not the case. Then Brooke accused Nick and Taylor of being involved. How could they do such a thing? Was Taylor heartless? Was she going to break Thorne and Allie's hearts again? (Uh, Brooke, at the present time Allie wants nothing to do with Taylor. I doubt her heart would break if Taylor disappeared. And you're a fine one to talk about dumping men. Hello Pot! This is the kettle. You're black.) Brooke demanded to know if something was going on between the shrink and her patient.
My reply: "None of your bees wax, Brooke."
