Things were a-happin' at Chez Ridge. Shirtless and blind, Hector prepared for the day with Taylor's help. He thanked his friend for her kindness. Taylor replied she had not liked some of Hector's actions but they were still friends. When the doorbell rang, Hector was excited. His brother, Christian, was to return from Africa and come see him. Hector's smile turned to a frown when Taylor informed him it might be Thorne. She was expecting him as well.
Downstairs, Taylor welcomed both Christian and Thorne at the same time. Christian immediately went to visit his brother upstairs. Hector implored Christian to find a way to help him get his eyesight back. Christian agreed to speak to his brother's doctor. Hector appreciated help from both him and Taylor. He told Christian he had high hopes that some romantic feelings for him might ignite from Taylor. Christian told him not to expect too much.
Back downstairs, Thorne helped Taylor move the couch to one side of the room and heard...
The Quote of the Day: "Now he can safely get out to the terrace if he wants to get some fresh air. Of course he won't be able to enjoy the view..." (So moving the couch a few inches will help Hector adjust to his blindness? I suspect making it easier for him to get outside will make it easier for him to fall off the balcony. And thanks for stating the obvious.)
Thorne expressed his delight in spending time with Taylor. He "spoke" with Darla each night and he was certain she wanted him to move on with his life. Although it seemed very soon after his wife's death, it felt right to kiss Taylor. The shrink agreed and they shared another smooch.
In Brooke's Bedroom, Nick informed his wife it was too late for their marriage because of what happened the previous night. Brooke suspected Nick meant he had fallen out of love with her. Just as Nick was about to tell her he had slept with her daughter, he received a cell phone call from Bridget. She begged him not reveal they had slept together. Her mother would not understand. Nick quickly hung up and continued his conversation with Brooke. She didn't want to hear any more about ending their marriage. She insisted she loved him and they could make the perfect life they had dreamed of. She swore there would be no more influence in their lives from Stephanie or Ridge. She wanted to start over. Nick gave in. He truly did love his wife. He said he'd give them another chance but they could never hurt each other again. After a tearful hug, Nick called Bridget and told her had to come over to speak to her.
At the Malibu Beach House, Felicia stopped by to see her half-sister. Felicia wondered if Bridget had heard any of the fallout from Ridge's stunt on the Rich Ginger Show the previous night. Although Bridget did not reveal any information, her attitude made Felicia guess Ridge and Brooke had reunited. Bridget replied she believed they would all end up with the person they were supposed to be with. (What alternate reality are you living in, honey?)
Felicia left and Nick arrived. Bridget was practically giddy with happiness. She knew Nick was upset about the end of his marriage. But it was obvious Brooke could never completely get Ridge out of her system. Bridget stated she had never gotten over Nick. Nick replied he would always care deeply for her as well. Then Bridget noticed Nick was wearing his wedding ring. What on earth was going on? Nick admitted Brooke had convinced him to give their union another chance. He had not told her about his tryst with Bridget but he intended to. She would understand and forgive him. Bridget was thunderstruck! This could not be happening.
Well it is happening, Bridget. So deal with it!

The following morning, Nick awoke and realized Bridget was in bed with him! (How many ways can you spell BIG MISTAKE?) Bridget told him they didn't have to talk about what had happened between them. They could make it mean as little or as much as they wanted. Nick cursed his weakness and blamed everything on Brooke and her uncontrolled love for Ridge. He had meant what he said. It was over - finished - kaput between he and Brooke. He was going to shower and head back to Brooke's Old Place to deliver the news right away. There was no need to prolong this agony. Nick and Bridget did not notice that Harry had returned from...yeah, where has Harry been all night?...and spied them in bed. (How they could have missed him is anyone's guess. The floor boards on the deck audibly creaked when he walked on and off the boat.)
Later, Harry returned to what he thought was an empty Shady Marlin. But Bridget was simply around the corner. The two startled each other and Bridget demanded to know who the young man was. Harry explained his character and Bridget then recalled Nick talking about him all the time. (Yeah. Sure he did.) When Bridget introduced herself, Harry realized she was Nick's ex-wife. Bridget filled him in that Nick was now married to her mother. Harry was slightly thrown off course, but told Bridget how he was now staying on the Shady Marlin. (Although he wasn't there last night, obviously.) Bridget lied she had come to pick up her sunglasses left from an earlier visit and took off. Alone, Harry wondered what tangled web Nick had entered.
Wistful, Bridget returned to the Malibu Beach House and went directly for the memorabilia chest. Out came the wedding album. Then it was time for the small ceramic urn that must contain Nicole's ashes. Then the grand finale - the infamous Nicole baby blanket. Bridget cried, held the blanket to her heart, and uttered...
The Quote of the Day: "Baby doll, there may be a chance your daddy and I will get back together." (What are you doing over there, Bridget, smokin' crack? First of all, I'd give your odds of reuniting with Nick about a 5% chance. Second, please don't talk to your dead baby. And third, if you must talk to your dead baby, don't call her baby doll. That's just icky.)
Over at Brooke's Old Place, Donna barged into her sister's bedroom and wondered when she and Nick were coming down for breakfast. Brooke explained Nick had not come home the previous night. Catherine had told her he planned to go to the Shady Marlin. Brooke had tried to call his cell phone but it went directly into voice mail. She didn't blame him for not wanting to talk to her. She had really screwed up. Donna related how Ridge had told her she had rejected him. Donna figured Brooke would come home and patch things up with Nick. Brooke said that had been her plan, but she was simply waiting to tell Nick she was devoted to him. Donna wanted to tell Brooke that Nick knew about the kiss between she and Ridge but Nick showed up and escorted Donna from the room.
Brooke immediately went into damage control mode. She told Nick she was sorry. She had indeed overreacted when she saw Ridge and Donna kissing on television. She had a sick obsession with Ridge but she truly did love her husband. Nick didn't want to hear another word. He wanted to return his wedding ring and pack his things. He was leaving. Brooke would not allow it. She knew she had hurt him. He had been more patient than she deserved. But last night Ridge had kissed her. Weak to his charms, she admitted she did not resist. But when Ridge begged her again to come back to him she turned him down. She loved Nick. She could trust Nick. He would never do anything to hurt her. Those words stuck like a knife in Nick's heart. (Now don't jump to conclusions, Nick. First, check if sleeping with her daughter would constitute breaking her trust or hurting her. You never know with this family.) Brooke pleaded for another chance to build the life they deserved - that their children deserved. Nick's resolve started to waiver, but he insisted it was too late for them...because he had to tell her what happened last night.
Sweet Elmer's Glue! Keep your mouth shut!

In Thomas' old bedroom at Chez Ridge, Stephanie told Hector to hit the road. She felt for his latest plight. But he seemed to be using his blindness to get closer to Taylor. Stephanie told him nothing romantic would ever occur between them. Hector accused Stephanie of only wanting to keep the path to Taylor clear for Thorne.
Downstairs, Thorne had stopped by to check on Taylor as well. The shrink told him everything was fine. His mother had checked on her as well, although her concern was only a reason to discuss "the" kiss Thorne had told her about. Thorne worried he might be scaring Taylor away. But she truly had been able to make him smile again. Thorne leaned in for another kiss. The liplock was interrupted by an apologetic Stephanie who spilled the beans about Hector staying at Chez Ridge. At first Thorne agreed with his mother. Hector obviously had a crush on Taylor and living in such close proximity was not a good idea. But Then Thorne realized caring for a friend in need was Taylor's way. He would help her in any way he could. A crashing sound from upstairs sent Taylor running. Hector had gotten confused and knocked over a lamp. He feared he'd never adjust to a sightless world. Taylor hugged him and assured him he would be fine and she'd help him. (I kind of like how tough-guy Hector has turned into a simpering, whimpering, basket case now that's he's blind. It may be a ploy to gain Taylor's affections, but it seems pretty realistic. Well, realistic for a psycho who tied his pretend girlfriend to the stairs and threatened her with fire resulting in a catastrophic fire and his blindness.)
Over at the Forrester Mansion, Donna spied on Brooke and Ridge while reporting to Nick via cell phone. Nick wanted details. Who had kissed who? What were they doing? Donna could not stand to watch any longer but did leave us with...
The Quote of the Day: "It's like they're hungry, like they want to swallow each other up." (Well, that would certainly be a mouthful.)
Inside, Ridge made a last ditch plea to convince Brooke to take him back. But Brooke pulled away. She could not return to the life they had shared because she no longer trusted him. He had sworn to love her forever and then deserted her and their children. Ridge apologized one last time and promised he would never disappoint her again. It was too late, Brooke replied. She had committed herself to Nick. He loved her. He made her laugh. He made her feel safe. That was what she now wanted for her and their family. Ridge conceded defeat but added he would move on with his life. Brooke understood but thought it insensitive he planned to move on with her sister. Ridge replied Donna had done wonders for him and he was going to see where it led. Saddened by the turn her life had taken, Brooke left.
Donna returned to the living room and let Ridge have it. He had made a fool or her on national television! All his sweet talk and kisses had meant nothing. He knew it would get under Brooke's skin and bring them back together. Ridge was not the man she thought he had been. He was a heartless, cruel monster. Ridge managed to interject that Brooke had not taken him back. She was going to stay with Nick. So, toots, how about hooking up with me? While I would have told Ridge to hook up with himself, Donna teased and told him they'd discuss the issue the following day.
On the Shady Marlin, Bridget watched helplessly as a devastated Nick drank the rest of his cheap whiskey and smashed the bottle against the wall. He had been a fool. He had believed Brooke when she told him she loved only him. Nick screamed that Ridge could have her. He was finished. Bridget told Nick she had hoped things would be different for him and Brooke. Bridget had given him up so he could find happiness with her mother. But it was obvious she was still hung up on Ridge. Nick cried as he took off his wedding ring. Bridget drew close and told him she wished she could make his pain go way.
Now how exactly does one make such pain go away? I'd probably offer to go out for ice cream - maybe share a drink - or just sit and talk and listen. But oh no! Bridget got dangerously close and instead of sharing a banana split they shared a kiss - and then another kiss - and then they tumbled onto the bed. Heaven help us all!
