What better way to start the morning than having breakfast with my favorite stars of B&B? It was quite entertaining to say the least. My dad had already been wandering the hotel and came to show us a picture on his phone of Alley Mills (Pam Douglas) who he had run into in the lobby. The excitement was building and I couldn't wait to get up there. Of course the elevator seemed like it was taking forever, and I was already running late since making my shirt took longer than expected (another reason why procrastonation is never a good thing). Eventually though the elevators opened and once again I was on the top floor of the Sheraton Universal City Hotel. Surrounded by walls of windows, the sun light burst in and all I could see were the beautiful hills filled with beautiful homes, a staple of the California landscape.
After check in, I found my table and couldn't have been happier. I felt like I had the best seat in the house. It was right in front of the table where the stars of B&B would soon be joining us, and I was seated with some very pleasant people including Scott Novick, creator of "The World of The Bold and the Beautiful" web page. I remember in middle school getting online and Scott's site was the first thing I check for the latest dish on everything B&B. Getting to meet him and hearing about how it all started was a real treat. Soon the fun began. Don Diamont (Bill Spencer Jr.) came out and helped introduce the actors. Upon arrival, we had all been given sheets of paper to write down a possible introduction for each of them. Those who were picked got to go up and read their intro. I wrote one for Jennifer Gareis (Donna Forrester), but didn't get chosen (Scott also wrote one for Jennifer so I didn't have much chance ha ha).
After they were all in and seated, we enjoyed our delicious breakfast, and I made sure to eat this time! Watching the actors interact outside of the show is always entertaining. Don Diamont and John McCook (Eric Forrester) are both quite funny, and not the least bit shy. Jennifer and Alley, though nemises on screen, have quite a rapport with one another in the flesh. At one point Jennifer even threw sugar packets at Ms. Mills to get back at her for the honey dumping! Kyle Lowder (Rick Forrester), Drew Tyler Bell (Thomas Forrester), and Texas Battle (Marcus Walton) were also in attendance. After we watched a slideshow of all the actors, and heard plenty of funny stories to go along with the pics, all of the stars went to their tables and we were allowed to start lining up for them. I was intending on going to Jennifer's line first, as I had at the last event, but she and Alley slipped out, so I instead went to meet fellow Texan, Texas Battle. He was extremly friendly and meeting him was great. We talked about Texas, the Dallas Cowboys, and how different it is living in LA.
I then briefly got to see John McCook again. It was the fourth time meeting him, and he is always a pleasure. Next I went to Kyle's line. I always feel slightly awkward when I first go up to the guy actors in my age range. I don't think I am not the "typical" B&B viewer I guess you could say. But Kyle was really cool, and even allowed me to ask him a question on film. As everyone who knows me knows, my all time favorite B&B character is Amber Moore. I'm hoping one day she will return home, and even asked Kyle what he thought of a Rick and Amber reunion one day. Check out the video for his response:
I also got a chance to ask Don about working with Heather Tom (Katie Logan) on B&B when they are both former "The Young and the Restless" alumni. He said it was a great, and genuinely seems to enjoy the Katie/Bill pairing. But time flew by as usual and before I knew it, I was rushing down to the luncheon! So check back again this week for more blogs about the lunch, meeting the other actors, and more video questions with some of the biggest names on B&B!
