As usual the breakfast flew by and I found myself rushing downstairs to the luncheon. My parents were in the lobby waiting to see some arrivals. I found my way down the escalators and checked in. My sister met up with me, and we found our table, which was the same place as the last event. We got a chance to interact with some of the other fans, it is always great hearing about the different parts of the world people come from to be there. We got up and walked around to view the silent auction items. Beautiful dresses worn on the show, jewelry worn by the actresses, and all sorts of neat items. My eye went immediately to some of the different design sketches that were used for Forrester Creations. As soon as I saw that one set of them was actually "Ambrosia" designs I immediately placed a bid. Having any sketches from the show would be cool, but having ones from Amber's collection would have been just awesome! My sister's eye immediately went to a black clutch used by Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) on the show, but amidst the bidding war, she eventually gave up on it. They had many Eye On Fashion magazines from Donna's honey dump on the runway, but we bid on the one with Eric Forrester on the cover for my aunt. However the thing that truly caught my eye was the giant 20th anniversary cast photo. In years past I could never have bid on it, but having just moved to LA, getting home would be a piece of cake, so I went for it.
After circling the auction table, I went over to check out some of the new B&B merchandise available. We got one of the cool new white shirts for our aunt, and one of the black ones for our mom. I also got a chance to view the new website (which is what you are now on) and see my blog on the big screen. Then we went and received our B&B gift bag. Inside was a booklet with photos of the stars to get autographed and perhaps one of the coolest B&B items I have ever seen, a deck of B&B playing cards! On the back they are black with the B&B logo, and each card is a different picture from the show. 2s-8s are screen caps from some of B&B's biggest moments like Rick and Amber burying their baby on the 6 of spades, Ridge and Taylor's first wedding on the eight of heart's and so forth. 9s-Aces are all cast/individual photos of the different actors, and perhaps the funniest of all is the Joker cards with the face of executive producer Bradley Bell on the face of the Joker. Just like with the show, when you play with these cards, he can always shake things up! I truly hope this item is added to the B&B store. It is a classic!
We eventually made our way back to the table and sat down. John McCook once again brilliantly took the stage and introduced each of the actors to a roar of applause, flashing cameras, and a true red carpet entrance. They each joined one another and seemed genuinely excited to be there with the fans. Of course the biggest entrance was Katherine Kelly Lang's, as the actor who played Ridge and Taylor's minister shouted, "I now pronounce you man and horse!" The fun had began, and although I was sad to see that Hunter Tylo was not there, that changed quickly when she made a surprise entrance and proved what a comedienne she can be. We were then served our delicious food and watched many great clips, including a montage of scenes from last year, as was shown at the Daytime Emmys the following day (seen here on YouTube:
We also got an exclusive sneak peak at upcoming episodes, including Ridge and Brooke's reunion, as well as Nick's on the spot tune for Bridget. As devout Brooke and Nick fans, my sister and just looked at one another, but it was still cool to get a preview. After our delicious meal was served, and some of the actors had come and gone from the stage, Alley Mills (Pam Douglas) announced she had a special treat for us, lemon bars! She cautioned us as to their potentially heart attack inducing contents, but I must say they were absolutely delicious and almost too big to finish. I had never actually tried a lemon bar before, but it is no joke when they say Pam truly makes the best.
After the lunch festivities came to a close, we were all released to get in line for the meet and greet portion of the event. Alley Mills walked by me and commented on how tall I am. The doors were opened and we made our way to each of the actor's tables. One of the first we saw was Winsor Harmon (Thorne Forrster). As another native Texan, and having met him in 2001, we talked about how long ago that was as well as a few other things including a band he also likes named Garbage! (Just had to throw that in there ha ha!) And with all of the recent rumors of Hope actually turning out to be Thorne's daughter, what did Winsor have to say about a possible Thorne and Brooke reunion one day? Check it out here:
