Actress Kimberly Matula Joins the Cast of
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
In the Contract Role of “Hope Logan”

Kimberly Matula Joins Bold and BeautifulDecember 4, 2009…Los Angeles, CA…Actress Kimberly Matula has been cast in the role of the teenaged “Hope Logan” on The Bold and the Beautiful, Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Bell announced today. “Kimberly is a vibrant and talented young actress,” said Bell.  “I look forward to seeing her bring ‘Hope’ to life.”  Additionally, Bell explains, “Aging the character of ‘Hope’ to a teenager allows us to bring the next generation of ‘Logans’ to the forefront, as well as play a broader range of the ‘Forrester’ vs. ‘Logan’ story. ‘Hope’s’ presence at Forrester Creations, as well as in ‘Brooke’ and ‘Ridge’s’ home, sparks an intense competition between ‘Hope’ and her step-sister ‘Steffy’ as well as creates new conflict between long-time rivals ‘Brooke’ and ‘Taylor’ as each woman is determined to protect her own daughter.”

“Hope Logan” is the daughter of “Brooke Logan” (played by original cast member Katherine Kelly Lang) and her son-in-law, bad boy “Deacon Sharpe.” She has been raised since childhood by her mother and her step-father, “Ridge Forrester” (played by original cast member Ronn Moss).

Matula, a native of Forth Worth, Texas, was the vice president of the thespian society in high school and moved to Los Angeles a mere ten months ago to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an actress. Her previous credits include the role of “Tara” in the Lifetime Network made-for-television movie Queen Sized with Nikki Blonsky and Annie Potts and a guest-starring role on CBS’ hit comedy How I Met Your Mother with Neil Patrick Harris.

Matula began taping The Bold and the Beautiful on November 19, 2009.  Her first airdate is scheduled for January 11, 2010.

On August 30, 2009, The Bold and the Beautiful won the Emmy for “Outstanding Drama Series” at the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards.

On June 11, 2009, The Bold and the Beautiful was the recipient of the Golden Nymph Award at the International TV Audience Awards in the “Telenovela/Soap Opera” category at the Monte Carlo Television Festival awards ceremony, confirming that in its genre, with an estimated 35 million daily viewers, it remains the most watched series in the world.

The Bold and the Beautiful, which celebrated its 22nd anniversary on Monday, March 23, 2009, is a Bell-Phillip Television production, broadcast weekdays (1:30-2:00 PM, ET; 12:30-1:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.
