B&B Receives 11 Daytime Emmy Nominations

                                    

 

"THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL" RECEIVES 11 DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT EMMY® NOMINATIONS

 

May 9, 2012 Los Angeles, CA… CBS’s hit daytime drama THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL received ­­­­11 nominations for the 39th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards, it was announced today.

 

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL was nominated in the following categories:

 

Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team: Michael Stich, Deveney Kelly, Cynthia J. Popp, David Shaughnessy and Jennifer Howard,  Directors; Steven A. Wacker, Clyde Kaplan, and Catherine Sedwick, Associate Directors; Laura Yale and Douglas Jon Hayden, Stage Managers and Lori Staffier, Production Assistant. This marks the seventh nomination for B&B in this category, with a win in 2011.

 

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Heather Tom as “Katie Logan”.  This marks Tom’s 14th nomination with three previous wins in 1993, 1999 (Y&R) in the Outstanding Younger Actress category, and 2011 in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category. This marks Tom’s first nomination in the Outstanding Lead Actress category.

 

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series:  John McCook as “Eric Forrester”.  This marks McCook’s second nomination.  He was previously nominated in 2001.

 

Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series: Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as “Steffy Forrester”.  This is Wood’s first nomination in this category.

 

New Approaches – Daytime Entertainment: “The Clarence Update” – Bradley P. Bell, Executive Producer; Casey Kasprzyk, Producer and Director; Brad Sanders, Writer and Performer.  This marks the 2nd nomination in this category.

 

Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design for a Drama Series: Jack Forrestel, Production Designer; Fabrice Kenwood, Art Director; Elsa Zamparelli, Set Decorator; Charlotte Garnell Scheide, Set Decorator. This marks the 20th nomination for B&B in this category, with five previous wins, in 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1994.

 

Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling for a Drama Series: Michele L. Arvizo, Key Hairstylist; and Audrey Soto, Adriana Lucio and Romaine Markus-Myers, Hairstylists. This marks the 11th nomination for B&B in this category, with four previous wins in 1996, 1998, 2009, and 2010.

 

Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series: Lothar Struff, Music Supervisor; Bradley P. Bell, Jack Allocco and David Kurtz, Composers. This marks the fourth nomination for B&B in this category with two previous wins in 2010 and 2011.

 

Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing for a Drama Series: Zoe Edgerton, Jonathon Smilowitz, Brian Bagwell and Sean-Michael Connor, Editors.  This marks the 13th nomination for B&B in this category with four previous wins in 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2008.

 

Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing: Aaron Lepley, George Forbes, Brian Connell, Danny Lecuna, Jerry Martz, Mixers; Ricky Alvarez, Dave Golba, and Stan Sweeney, Boom Operators.  This marks the sixth nomination for B&B in this category, with two previous wins in 1994 and 2002.

 

Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction: Patrick Cuniff.  This marks the ninth nomination for B&B in this category with two previous wins in 1994 and 2006.

 

The 39th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, which celebrated its 25th anniversary on March 23, 2012, is a Bell-Phillip Television production, broadcast weekdays (1:30-2:00 PM, ET; 12:30-1:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network. Bradley P. Bell is the Executive Producer and Head Writer. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL is the first and only daytime drama to simulcast in Spanish utilizing SAP (Secondary Audio Program) technology.
