Four-time Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award® winner Cynthia J. (Cindy) Popp is producer and director of The Bold and the Beautiful.

A native of Orange County, California, Popp grew up watching television and film and always knew she wanted to have a place in the world of entertainment.  She attended California State University Fullerton where she majored in Communications with an emphasis in Radio, Television and Film.  Upon graduation, she took an entry level job at CBS Television City in Los Angeles where she ultimately met the late William J. Bell and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell.

Popp was the very first staff employee that the Bells hired when they began production of their newest soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, in 1986.  She began as office manager and before long had held almost every position within the company before being gifted with the opportunity to produce and direct episodes of the series. A Director's Guild of America nominee, her other directing credits include Frasier and Passions.   Additionally, Popp has produced music videos for The Bold and the Beautiful present cast member John McCook and past cast members Bobbie Eakes and Jeff Trachta for their international record labels.  Popp helms her own production company, Elocin Entertainment, Inc., where she is developing her own television and feature projects.

During a sweep at the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards® on June 19, 2011, The Bold and the Beautiful’s producing team received their third consecutive Emmy® for “Outstanding Drama Series”. In 2011Popp also received an Emmy® for “Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series”.

In June 2011, The Bold and the Beautiful received its sixth Golden Nymph Award at the International TV Audience Awards in the “Telenovela/Soap Opera” category at the Monte Carlo Television Festival.  In 2010, Guinness World Records® named The Bold and the Beautiful the Most Popular Daytime Soap Currently on TV.  The Bold and the Beautiful is the most watched daytime drama series in the world, seen daily by more than 35 million people in over 100 countries.

The Bold and the Beautiful, which celebrated its 24th anniversary on March 23, 2011, is a Bell-Phillip Television production, broadcast weekdays (1:30-2:00 PM, ET, 12:30-1:00 PM PT) on the CBS Television Network.  It is the first and only daytime drama to simulcast in Spanish utilizing SAP (Secondary Audio Program) technology.
