Happy New Year
January 15th

Been a while, huh? Holiday good? Texas was great. Dramatic, then mellow.
Glad to be working again. Lots to keep me busy to get over the aforementioned drama.

The show lately--- I have NO idea where it’s going. Ever. Makes it fun for us as actors…. I know I’ve said a few things lately, then the storyline goes in a different direction, and I look like dumbo. So, reticent to give any hints. Just trust me. Or don’t. But, Bridget is branching out.

Been getting lots of questions/comments on facebook and/or email. Some of them disturbing--- let’s keep it all clean, people (you’d be shocked!!).

Yes. On True Blood as new character Daphne. No, not leaving B&B. Yes, I did get the 411 on the peanut butter crisis, thank you, I’ll stay clear if you do.

And no, still don’t understand why Bridget wore a bikini to see Owen, but sometimes you go with the flow, dive first, then see what temperature the water is. Funny thing about that day… We’re shooting scenes from shows we already taped, out of order and I’m shooting three different shows that day with a plethora of dialogue. Sounds like a perfect day to come down with asthmatic, bronchial pneumonia, right? The set’s around 50 degrees – or it feels that way to me IN A BIKINI. It’s all I can do to stand up. I start getting that hot/cold thing, then a fever, then was out of commission for about ten days. Needless to say, the scene turned out short. But, let’s be honest, folks. We’re really all looking at Brandon sans shirt, right? At that point, Bridget (aka ME) might as well be furniture.

MLK Day
In Los Angeles, there are two main types of people. Those that go to Starbucks, and those that go to The Coffee Bean. Most people have a strong preference. If you don’t drink coffee at all, then you’re too evolved and I doubt I even know you. I’m a CoffeeBeaner. I only drink Starbucks when I have traveled out of the Coffee Bean network. So, today I wake up. Go to make coffee (save money, you know, the economy, etc), but no creamer in fridge. Mock scream.

Cut to:
Coffee at CoffeeBean. Hoping to read script and write. New tactic for productivity vs. procrastination. Distraction Number One: See Eddie Murphy. Again. He must live around me. But, come on! It’s Eddie Freaking Murphy. I have to pretend like I’m not looking, but don’t expect me to really be reading. Pulls up to prime parking spot. I’d tell you what he drives, but then he might hunt me down, or maybe just Mariah Carey does that. Then, Distraction Number Two: Spot my friend and part time crush Josh Hopkins. Must say hello, too cute to ignore. Just joined cast of Private Practice as love interest for Kate Walsh, as if she really needs another one. Discuss current events. He fills me in on the world. I fill him in on K-Fed’s new girlfriend and J-Lo’s last tiff with Marc Anthony.

I know, we really do balance each other out quite well, thanks.

Finally begin reading. Scottie’s with me. Loves hanging out. Beautiful day. Weird one, though, for me. Think I need to go running soon. Clears the head, you know.

Highly recommend the natural endorphin thing. On way out to car, see Paula Abdul.

Inauguration Day
So, today’s the big day? Hope, Change and Unification. We are witnessing a huge day in history. Despite what side of the political rope you fall on, I believe it’s time for us to all unite, exhibiting true equality…. Who am I kidding? This is NOT the Huffington Post. No need to start a political debate. I do like what Alley Mills said in Soap Digest about us all just getting along. What I’m loving is the excitement in the air. A reverence. Even Mom is gearing up her second graders to have a memorable day with Presidential-esque projects. Here’s to 2009. May we each do our part to make a difference in our world. Thank you to all of you that make it their business to protect our country so that we may live our lives peacefully and freely. How blessed we are to call ourselves Americans.

Ps- thought about asking famous coffee beaners to chime in with quote on brand new President Obama. Then thought, let them drink in peace. Plus, don’t need to seem any crazier than already am.
