Born and raised in Washington State, Young was bitten by the acting bug in high school while starring in local stage productions. His ambitious career aspirations led him to Los Angeles where he soon landed his first television role on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. Young debuted to both fan and critical acclaim and quickly received an Emmy® nomination in the category of “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series” in 1999.

After taking a brief hiatus from daytime television to film a movie, Young joined the cast of General Hospital as “Lucky Spencer”, where he earned his first Daytime Emmy® win in the category of “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series” in 2002. A year later, he joined the cast of All My Children as “JR Chandler”, until the show’s cancelation from broadcast television in 2011. Days later, Young returned to his home at to THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL to reprise the fan-favorite role of “Rick” that he originated.

Young’s other television credits include guest starring roles on Hope & Faith and One Life to Live. He also appeared in the feature film The Girl Next Door and the made-for-television movies, The Beach Boys: An American Family and Imaginary Friend. In 2006, Young fulfilled his dream of starring in a Broadway production when he landed the role of “Luminère” in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

Young has received a total of six Daytime Emmy® nominations in his career. In addition to his 1999 and 2002 nominations, he was nominated in 2005 for his role on All My Children in the category of “Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series”.
