Stephanie admits that she wants Eric’s forgiveness, but that she can’t accept it under false pretenses. She admits to Eric that she always knew there was a chance that Massimo might be Ridge’s real father. Later, Stephanie arrives home to find Eric. Eric forgives her despite what she has just told him and declares he is moving back in. Brooke makes eye contact with Nick as he sings the last verse of the song directly to her. Jackie enters the bar, unseen, and is excited to see the connection between Nick and Brooke. Brooke congratulates Nick, and he finally gathers the courage to admit to Brooke that he did indeed write the song for her. After Brooke leaves the bar, Jackie emerges and tells Nick that she feels he and Brooke are on the road to something grand. Brooke arrives at her office excited to see Ridge, but then she is saddened when she realizes he is packing a box with his belongings. Although Brooke tells Ridge that they'll always be friends, Ridge admits that the tension and distance are too much for him to stay at Logan Designs. Ridge hands Brooke an envelope with annulment papers inside.
