The Lee Phillip Show
Before co-creating "The Young & the Restless" and "The Bold & the Beautiful," Lee Phillip hosted her own iconic daytime Chicago talk show. Beginning in the 1960s, the show ran for more than 30 years and attracted A-list guests from Presidents Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter to Lucille Ball, Sidney Poitier, Angela Lansbury, John Wayne, and Judy Garland.
The Lee Phillip Show also pioneered conversations about often-taboo social issues, including investigating the lives of prisoners, the struggles of runaways, and the dangers of breast cancer (one of the first televised self-exams was demonstrated on her show).
